Its been a while since I posted on Vox. Let see, what has changed since my last real post from April 30th. I'm still working at S.W.I.F.T. as a software developer, hopefully the global economy crisis doesn't endanger that. In July Emily and I got married in Gloversville, New York, we then honeymooned in Cancoon. The wedding was a lot of funa and I had a lot of fun in Cancoon, although I couldn't go a week without Internet access. By the 4th day, I was going insane from lack of communication with the outside world. I mean come on, I'm at a gorgeous resort, with my lovely wife, its during the iPhone launch. My only window to the outside world was TV and that was pretty much all in Spanish, and my Spanish pretty much sucks. So I spent a few bucks and got Internet for the rest of the week. At first Emliy made fun of me and then she ended up fighting me for the laptop.
Emily started school in August at George Mason and is working towards a degree in Information Technology. I'm very proud of her. She is too hard on herself when it comes to school.
There is now a couple of things going on in my life right now. Emily and I are waiting right now to close on our first home. I always said that I wouldn't be buying a house in Northern Virginia, its not really the area that I wanted to live in. But we are buying a 4 bedroom, 2 story house, with a fully finished basement. I am extremely excited!!!
Beyond that I am going to be starting in my masters program in January at JMU. Its a distance program so I will be taking two courses a semester online and it will only take me five semesters to get my masters degree in Computer Science.
That's a brief overview of the past 8 months. Hopefully I will be updating this more often than I have.
So I'm a bit of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) nerd, in college my most memorable class was a class on AI, where we learned things like Neural Networks, concepts of intelligence testing (ie. The Turing Test); all in all it was a very good class. Today I listened to Floss Weekly 31 where they interview the guy behind the open source project NobleApe. The concept of NobleApe is pretty neat, its a simulation Ape's and how the socially evolve. It is a very neat little project and I encourange anyone who is intereseted in AI to check out the podcast.
So I've had two Coldplay albums on my computer for a while, Parachutes and "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" and I've meant to get around to listening to them for quite a while. At work I usually listen to music while I'm coding so I figured lets go ahead and put Coldplay on the ol' iPhone. So while I was at work today, I listened to the albums. I think the title for the second album should be "A rush of blood from my head from the gushing self inflicted gunshot wound because I shot myself while listening to this crappy melodramatic dribble", kind of a long title but I think it would have worked. Yea thats how I feel, I have no understanding of how they ever made it beyond the coffee shop's open mike night.
So yea Coldplay... I just don't get ya.
have an irational fear of bathroom stalls, I think it is due to the
cramped nature of them. I always end up using the handislap stalls,
am I a bad person?

The job hunt has ended, I accepted a position with S.W.I.FT. which means that I will be moving up to Manassas. I know I said that I did not want a position up in Northern Virginia, but that seems to be where most entry level positions are. I start the job mid January so I have a little break after I graduate. Now comes the fun part of actually moving and finding somewhere to live. I would write more but I'm sick and just want to crash.
Sorry for the drought on the posts, I went up to New York for about a week, lots of fun, but I'll write about it later.
I made an avatar on the Simpsons Movie website what do you think?
